QR code generator with logo

Paste your link, then upload your logo in the panel below the form. The generator places it in the centre and switches error correction to High so the code still scans. Your logo never leaves your device.

Colors, size and logo

Higher levels survive damage and logos but make the code denser.

Your image stays on your device. Adding a logo switches error correction to High.

How to make a QR code with a logo

  1. Paste your link

Type or paste the web address the code should open. Any other type, like WiFi or a contact card, works with a logo too.

  2. Upload your logo

In Colors, size and logo, choose a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG file. A square logo with a little empty space around it works best.

  3. Test on two phones, then download

Scan it from a normal distance with two different phones. Download SVG for print or PNG for screens.

Every QR code carries backup data called error correction. It exists so a code still scans when it is scratched, dirty or partly covered. There are four levels:

Level Can recover about
Low (L) 7% of the data
Medium (M) 15%
Quartile (Q) 25%
High (H) 30%

A logo in the middle deliberately covers part of the code, so it uses up some of that backup. That is why the generator locks error correction to High as soon as you add a logo. Remove the logo and your previous setting comes back.

High error correction is not free: it adds squares, so the same link makes a denser code. That matters for small prints, which is why a logo code should be a little bigger than a plain one.

Choosing the right logo file

  • Use a simple mark, not a full wordmark. An icon or initials read better at 1 to 2 cm than a long company name.
  • Square works best. Wide logos get scaled down to fit and end up tiny.
  • Transparent or solid both work. The generator clears the squares behind the logo first, so a transparent logo sits on the code’s background colour. A dark logo on a dark code background will disappear, so check the preview.
  • SVG or a large PNG. At least 300 pixels wide keeps it sharp in a 2048 or 4096 pixel download.

Rules that keep it scannable

  1. Keep the three corner squares clear. Phones use them to find and straighten the code. Covering one breaks scanning far more often than covering the centre.
  2. Keep the white border. Leave at least 4 squares of quiet space around the code. Do not crop it, and do not place it on a busy photo.
  3. Dark on light. A brand colour for the code is fine if it is dark. Test any colour that is lighter than a mid grey.
  4. Shorter links make better logo codes. Fewer characters means fewer, larger squares, which leaves more room for the logo.
  5. Test on two phones. One iPhone and one Android, at the distance people will actually scan from.

If a code with a logo will not scan, the QR code not scanning guide walks through the fixes in order.

Give a logo code about 20% more width than a plain code. On a business card that means roughly 2.5 cm (1 in) instead of 2 cm. On a poster read from 2 metres, aim for at least 20 cm. The QR code size guide shows how size, link length and scan distance fit together.

Download SVG for print. It stays sharp at any size, and your logo is embedded inside the file. See the SVG guide for print checks.

What stays the same

Adding a logo changes how the code looks, not what it holds. It is still a static code with your link inside, so it works without our site and never expires. If you would rather keep it plain, a black code on white with no logo is still the most reliable option, and you can always add your brand next to the code instead of inside it.

Questions people ask

How big can my logo be?

The generator sizes it for you. It clears a square in the centre about 22% of the code's width, which is under 5% of its area, and fits your logo inside. That leaves plenty of margin at High error correction and never touches the three big corner squares.

Why does adding a logo switch error correction to High?

A logo hides some of the code's squares. High error correction stores enough backup data to rebuild about 30% of the code, so phones can still read it with the centre covered.

Does a logo make the code harder to scan?

A little. The code also gets denser, because High error correction needs more squares. Print it slightly bigger than a plain code and test before printing in bulk.

Is the logo uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is read in your browser and drawn onto the code there. Nothing is sent to our server.

Can I use my brand colours too?

Yes. Keep the code dark and the background light, with strong contrast. Black, navy or dark green on white all scan well. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many phones.

Is there a watermark or a fee for logos?

No. Logos, colours and every download size are free, with no signup and no watermark. The code is static, so it never expires.
