What should the code open?
Social details
Colors, size and logo

Higher levels survive damage and logos but make the code denser.

Your image stays on your device. Adding a logo switches error correction to High.

How to make an Instagram QR code

  1. Enter your username

Type your Instagram username, with or without the @. You can also paste your full profile link.

  2. Pick colors or add a logo

Open "Colors, size and logo" to match your brand. Keep the code darker than the background so it scans.

  3. Download and share

Download PNG for screens and social posts, or SVG for print. Scan it once to check it opens the right profile.

Where an Instagram code earns its place

The best spots are places where people already have their phone out and like what they see. Shop windows, product packaging, business cards, posters at events, the back of a menu and the bottom of a flyer all work well.

Tell people what they get. “Follow us for new arrivals” will get more scans than a code with no words around it.

You can type just the username, like @mycafe, and the generator builds the right profile link. If you paste a full link instead, it uses that exactly. That is handy for a specific post or reel, as long as the link is public.

Usernames can contain letters, numbers, dots and underscores. If you type something unusual, the generator will flag it so you can double check before printing.

Keep it scannable

Brand colors are fine, but a few rules keep the code readable:

  • Make the code darker than the background. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many phones.
  • Keep good contrast. The generator warns you if the colors are too close.
  • Leave the white border around the code.
  • If you add a logo, keep it simple and let the generator raise error correction to High.

One page, many platforms

Switch the platform dropdown to make codes for TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube with the same style. Download each one, and you have a matching set for your poster or website.

Profile, post or reel

A code for your profile is the safe default: it keeps working as you post new things. Link a single post or reel only when the code is about one thing, like a recipe on a menu or a product video on its packaging. If that post is deleted or archived, the code will lead nowhere.

Questions people ask

Doesn't Instagram already have a QR code?

It does, inside the app under share profile. Ours is useful when you want a plain code that matches your print design, an SVG file for sharp printing, or one sheet with codes for several platforms.

What if I change my username?

The code holds your profile link, which includes your username. If you change your username, the old code will point to the old name. Make a new code after any change.

Can I make a code for TikTok or LinkedIn?

Yes. Choose the platform in the dropdown and type your username. For any other site, paste the full profile link instead.

Does this code expire?

No. It is a static code, so it works for as long as your profile link does.

Can I link to a post or reel instead of my profile?

Yes. Open the post or reel, copy its link from the share menu, and paste the full link instead of your username.

Can I see how many people scanned it?

Not with a free static code. It opens Instagram directly, so nothing in between can count scans. Counting scans needs a dynamic code, which is what our Pro plan is for.

Which file should I use for printing?

SVG for print shops and design apps, because it stays sharp at any size. PNG is fine for screens, slides and most home printers.
