LinkedIn QR code generator

Type the end of your LinkedIn profile address, or paste the link to a company page or job post, and download a QR code any phone camera can scan. Set your custom profile URL first, so the code does not break later.

Higher levels survive damage and logos but make the code denser.

How to make a LinkedIn QR code

  1. Copy your LinkedIn link

Open your profile, company page or job post and copy its address. For a profile, you can type just the part after /in/.

  2. Paste it into the generator

LinkedIn is already selected. Paste the link or type your profile name into the second field.

  3. Scan, then download

Check the code opens the right page on your phone, then download SVG for print or PNG for screens and slides.

First, set your custom profile URL

LinkedIn gives every profile an address like linkedin.com/in/alex-rivera-4b7a19203. You can change the end of it to something cleaner, like alex-rivera, from Edit public profile & URL on your profile.

Do this before you make the code, for two reasons:

  • The code gets simpler. A shorter link means fewer, bigger squares, which scan faster and print smaller. A profile link of about 40 characters makes a code 29 squares across.
  • It will not break later. Per LinkedIn’s help pages, a custom URL can be 3 to 100 letters or numbers, with no spaces or symbols. You can change it up to 5 times in 6 months, and an old URL stays linked to you for six months unless you unlink it. If you change it after printing, your old cards may stop finding you after that.

Profile, company page or job post

  • Your profile. Type the part after /in/, or paste the whole link. Best for business cards, CVs, name badges and conference slides.
  • A company page. Paste the full link with /company/ in it. Good for packaging, office reception signs and trade show stands.
  • A job post. Paste the job’s link for a specific role on a flyer or a careers fair poster. Jobs close, so for a long-lasting sign, link to the jobs tab of your company page instead.

Anything with a slash in it is treated as a link and used exactly as you pasted it.

LinkedIn’s code vs a standard code

LinkedIn’s own code, under the QR icon in the app’s search bar, is quick for swapping profiles in person. For print, a standard code is more flexible: you can download SVG for sharp printing, it works for company pages and jobs too, and it matches the Instagram, TikTok and YouTube codes you make here.

Where a LinkedIn code works

  • Business cards and CVs. On a business card, consider a contact card code with your LinkedIn link included, so one scan saves your phone, email and profile.
  • Name badges and lanyards at conferences and meetups.
  • The last slide of a talk, so people can connect while you take questions. Leave it up for a while and make it big.
  • Email signatures and PDFs, as a small image next to your name.
  • Careers fair stands and recruitment posters, opening a company page or job.

Before you print

  1. Scan the code with an iPhone and an Android phone, with and without the LinkedIn app if you can.
  2. Check it opens the right profile or page, and that your profile is visible to people who are not signed in, if you want strangers to see it. You can check this under Edit public profile & URL.
  3. Print at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide with a white border, dark on light. See the size guide for posters and screens.

The code is static: the link is in the squares themselves, so it never expires and does not depend on our site.

Questions people ask

Does LinkedIn have its own QR code?

Yes. In the LinkedIn app, tap the QR icon in the search bar, then My code. You can save it to your photos. It only covers your own profile, and you cannot choose its size or file type. A code from here works for profiles, company pages and job posts.

What do I type for my profile?

The part of your profile address after linkedin.com/in/. If your address is linkedin.com/in/alex-rivera, type alex-rivera. Or paste the whole link.

Will the code break if I change my custom URL?

It can. LinkedIn lets you change your custom URL up to 5 times in 6 months, and says the old one stays linked to you for six months unless you unlink it. After that, a code with the old address may show Profile Not Found. Set your URL first, then make the code.

Can I make a code for a company page?

Yes. Open the company page, copy its address (it has /company/ in it), and paste the full link into the second field.

Can I make a code for a job post?

Yes. Open the job, copy its link and paste it. Remember that a job post closes when you stop hiring, so use your company's jobs page for codes that stay up longer.

Does the code expire?

No. It holds the LinkedIn link itself, so it works as long as the page exists. There is no redirect and no subscription.
