How to make a Facebook QR code
Copy your Facebook link
Open your page, profile, group or event in a browser and copy the address from the address bar.
Paste it into the maker
Facebook is already selected, so paste the link or username into the "Username or profile link" field.
Scan, then download
Check the code opens the right page on your own phone, then download SVG for print or PNG for screens.
Which Facebook link to use
The maker takes a username or any Facebook link. Pick the one that matches what you want people to see:
- Business page: copy the address of your page, like facebook.com/yourbusiness. This is the best choice for shop windows, receipts and packaging.
- Personal profile: copy your profile address. Good for a business card QR code if you use Facebook to network.
- Group: copy the group address. People who scan land on the group and can ask to join.
- Event: copy the event link. Useful on posters and flyers for a single date.
If you type only a username, the code opens facebook.com followed by that name. If you paste a full link, the code holds that exact link.
Facebook’s built-in group QR code vs making your own
Facebook does offer a QR code, but only for groups. Its help page on sharing a QR code for a group you admin, which we read on 3 November 2026, says:
- “Only admins can access the group QR code to share it.”
- “Admins can only access the group QR code from a computer.”
- “Group QR codes aren’t available for private hidden groups.”
So if you run a page, have a profile, or want to promote an event, you need a QR code made from the link. A code from here also lets you choose the file type, colors and a logo, which the built-in one does not.
Add your logo and colors without breaking the scan
Open “Colors, size and logo” to match your brand. A few rules keep the code readable:
- Keep the dark parts dark and the background light. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on some phones.
- Keep the logo small and in the center. The logo guide explains how big it can safely be.
- Leave a clear white border around the code.
Where to put a Facebook QR code
- Shop counters and windows, with a line like “Follow us on Facebook”.
- Receipts, bags and packaging, so customers can find you after they leave.
- Event posters, linking straight to the event page.
- Flyers for a club or community group, linking to the group.
If you are also on other platforms, make a matching Instagram QR code or one for TikTok, using the same colors.
Will my Facebook QR code expire?
No. Codes made here are static: the Facebook link is written into the pattern, so there is no account, trial or subscription that can switch it off. The real risk is the link itself. If you change your page username or delete an event, a printed code opens a page that no longer exists. Read do QR codes expire? for the full picture.
If you expect the address to change, an editable code with QRNoExpire Pro lets you change where it points without reprinting.
Before you print
Scan the code with an iPhone and an Android phone, with and without the Facebook app if you can. Check it opens the right page and that the page is public. Then use the print size guide to choose a size for your flyer, poster or sign.
Questions people ask
Does Facebook have its own QR code?
Facebook's help center documents a QR code for groups, which only admins can open, and only from a computer. For pages, profiles and events, make a QR code from the link, which is what this maker does.
How do I get a QR code for my Facebook business page?
Open your page, copy its address, and paste it into the maker. You can also type just the page's username. The code opens facebook.com followed by that username.
Does the QR code change if I rename my page or change my username?
The code itself never changes, but the link inside it can stop working if your username changes. If you plan to rename, do it before you print, or use an editable code you can repoint later.
Can I make a QR code for a Facebook group or event?
Yes. Copy the group or event link from your browser and paste it in. Scan it with a phone that is not logged in as an admin to check that people outside the group can open it.
Do Facebook QR codes expire?
Codes made here do not. The link is stored in the pattern itself, so nothing on our side can switch it off. The code only stops working if Facebook removes the page or the address changes.
How big should I print it?
It depends on how far away people stand. Our print size guide gives sizes for cards, flyers, posters and signs.
