A QR-Code-Generator.com alternative, compared fairly
Pick QR Code Generator (QRCG by Bitly) if you need detailed scan analytics, bulk creation, an API, team seats or hosted landing pages. Pick QRNoExpire if you want free static codes with a logo and no signup, or simple editable codes for $5 a month that keep redirecting after you cancel.
Updated
The short version
QR Code Generator (qr-code-generator.com, now QRCG by Bitly) is a full marketing platform. QRNoExpire is a small, simple tool. Both make free static codes that never expire. The big differences are what the free version includes, what editable codes cost, and what happens to editable codes when you stop paying.
If you are not sure whether you need an editable code at all, read static vs dynamic QR codes first. Most printed codes do not need one.

QRCG facts come from its homepage, pricing page and help center articles linked below, all read on 3 November 2026. Prices are US prices before tax, as shown on 3 November 2026.

Free trial: what QRCG says happens
QRCG’s pricing page invites you to “Start 14-day free trial-no credit card needed”. During the trial you can make dynamic codes. When it ends, QRCG’s trial help article says:
“Dynamic QR Codes are deactivated and point to a service page rather than the original destination.”
The same article says “Any Static QR Codes in your account continue to work.” and “Your QR Code data is retained but you can’t view it until you upgrade.” If you printed a dynamic trial code on a menu or flyer, it will stop going to your page unless you pay. Our guide to why QR codes expire explains how to tell which kind you have.
After you cancel a paid plan
QRCG’s cancellation help article is clear about this:
- “Your plan stays active through the billing period you already paid for, and your Dynamic QR Codes keep redirecting for 30 days after that.”
- “During that 30-day window your Dynamic QR Codes still work, but you can’t edit them.”
- “Once the 30 days are over, your account is locked and your Dynamic QR Codes redirect to a service page instead of their original destination.”
- “Refunds aren’t offered for unused time.”
- “Note that we do not send confirmation emails regarding your cancellation.”
On timing, the two pages read differently. The pricing FAQ says “The notice period is always 30 days before the end of the billing cycle.” The help article says to cancel at least one day before your renewal date. If you plan to cancel, ask QRCG which applies to your plan.
Prices
US prices before tax, as shown on 3 November 2026, from the QRCG pricing page:

What QR Code Generator does well
- Analytics. It lets you “See where, when, and how often people scan your QR Codes”, including the operating system.
- Scale. Bulk creation from a CSV file, an API, and up to 5 users depending on plan.
- Range. “22 types of QR Codes”, hosted pages, frames, logos and colors.
- Clear rules. Its help center states the trial and cancellation rules plainly, which is why we can quote them here.
What QRNoExpire does differently
- More in the free version. Free static codes with colors and an optional logo, downloaded as PNG, SVG or JPG, with no signup and no watermark, up to 15 new codes a day. See the QR code generator with logo.
- One low price. Pro is $5 a month or $48 a year for editable codes. See pricing.
- Codes that keep working. If you cancel Pro, your codes keep redirecting. Only editing locks.
QRNoExpire is much simpler. It has no frames, templates, gradients or custom eye shapes, no bulk creation, no API, no detailed analytics, no team accounts, no landing pages and no EPS or PDF downloads.
Who should pick which
- Pick QR Code Generator if you run campaigns that need scan locations and device data, bulk codes, an API or several users, and you plan to keep paying.
- Pick QRNoExpire if you want a free static code with a logo and no signup, or a few editable codes at a low price that will not break your print if you cancel.
- Already have a QRCG code that stopped? See QR code expired for your options.
