Venmo QR code: how to find, share and print yours

Venmo already gives you a free QR code: go to the Me tab, tap the QR code button, then Venmo me. If you need a bigger, branded code for a sign or table card, type your Venmo username in the maker below and download a print-ready file.

Look up your username on your profile in the Venmo app, and leave out the @.

Venmo is already selected, so type your username into the "Username or profile link" field.

Use Venmo’s own code first

For most people, Venmo’s built-in code is the right choice. It is free, it is in the app already, and it is made for paying you. Venmo’s help page on personal QR codes, which we read on 3 November 2026, says:

  • “Show your “Venmo me” QR code to help others easily navigate to and pay your Venmo profile”
  • To find it: “1. Go to the Me tab 2. Tap the QR code button on your profile picture 3. Tap Venmo me”
  • “Your Venmo QR code will show on your screen and can be scanned with another user’s Venmo app or device camera to take them to your profile. You can also tap the share button to send the code using email, text messages, and more.”

Business profiles get their own codes, including codes for a set price. Venmo covers those on its page about QR codes for business profiles.

When to make your own Venmo QR code

Make one here when the in-app code is not enough:

  • You need a big print. A sign at a market stall, a bake sale table or a tip jar needs a sharp file, not a screenshot.
  • You want your colors or logo. Open “Colors, size and logo” to match the rest of your sign. The logo guide explains how to keep it readable.
  • You need SVG. SVG stays sharp at any size, which suits print shops.

When you choose Venmo and type a username, the maker builds a link like venmo.com/u/yourname. Be aware of two things:

  1. This format is not in Venmo’s help docs. It worked when we tried it on 3 November 2026: it opened a public profile page with Sign in and Get Venmo buttons. Venmo could change it, so scan your code before you print a batch.
  2. A link code does not fill in an amount. It opens your profile, and the payer types the amount. If you need a fixed price, use Venmo’s business codes.

Printing a Venmo QR code for a stall or event

  • Put your name and username in text next to the code, so payers can check they have the right profile.
  • Print dark on light with a white border.
  • Choose a size for the distance people stand from the sign. The print size guide has sizes for table cards, posters and banners.
  • Keep a second payment option nearby for people who do not use Venmo.

How to scan a Venmo QR code

Point your phone camera or the Venmo app scanner at the code. Venmo’s help page adds: “If someone shared their QR code image with you, tap the photo icon at the bottom of the scanner page to use a saved image from your device.” For other ways to read a code, see how to scan a QR code.

Venmo QR code scams and how to check a code

A payment code is a target for stickers placed over the real one. Before you pay:

  • Check the name and username on the profile that opens match the person or business in front of you.
  • Look for a sticker on top of a printed code.
  • If something looks off, ask the seller to show their code in the app.

Questions people ask

How do I find my Venmo QR code?

In the Venmo app, go to the Me tab, tap the QR code button on your profile picture, then tap Venmo me. Your code shows on screen, and the share button sends it by email or text.

Can someone scan my Venmo QR code with a normal phone camera?

Yes. Venmo's help page says your code can be scanned with another user's Venmo app or device camera. A link code from here also opens in any phone camera, because it is a regular web link.

What is my Venmo link?

Venmo's help docs do not list a profile link format. When we tried it, venmo.com/u/ followed by a username opened that public profile, and that is the link this maker builds.

Does a Venmo QR code expire?

A code made here does not expire, because the link is stored in the pattern. It stops working only if your username changes or your profile no longer exists.

What happens if I change my Venmo username?

A printed link code holds your old username, so it may stop finding your profile. Make a new code after a username change, and reprint.

Can a Venmo QR code request a set amount?

Not a link code from here. It opens your profile and the payer types the amount. Venmo's business profiles can make price-specific codes inside the app.
