QR codes for churches

Paste the link to your giving page, bulletin, events page or website into the "Website address" field below. Print the code in the bulletin or on a welcome sign, and because it is static, a reprinted bulletin never breaks it.

How to make a church QR code

  1. Pick one page per code

Choose the page people should land on, such as your giving page, this week's bulletin or an event sign-up.

  2. Paste the link into the maker

Paste the page's address into the "Website address" field and download the code.

  3. Test it, then print

Scan the printed code with two phones before it goes into the bulletin or onto a sign.

QRNoExpire does not process payments. A QR code from here simply opens the giving page your church already has, so the giving itself stays with the platform you trust.

Many giving platforms make their own QR code too. Tithely’s help page on creating a custom QR code, which we read on 3 November 2026, says its “QR Code Generator allows churches to create custom QR codes linked directly to their Giving Form”. If yours does, that code works well. Make one here when you want SVG for print, your church colors, or a logo.

To make a giving code:

  1. Open your giving page on a phone and copy its address.
  2. Paste it into the maker.
  3. Add a line under the code like “Scan to give online”.

If your church takes donations on Venmo, our Venmo QR code page explains how to find and print a Venmo code.

Bulletin and sermon notes

Put the weekly bulletin, sermon notes or a reading plan online and link a code to it. Two ways to keep it simple:

  • Use one link for every week. Replace the file at the same address each week, and the printed code always opens the latest one.
  • Use a web page rather than a PDF if you can. It is easier to read on a phone.

The PDF QR code guide shows how to get a public link for a file.

Guest Wi-Fi QR code

A code by the entrance or in the hall lets guests join the Wi-Fi without typing a password. Make it with the WiFi QR code generator, and put it on a small card at the welcome desk.

Events, sign-ups and prayer requests

  • Event sign-ups: link to a form for a retreat, a meal or a volunteer rota.
  • Prayer requests: link to a private form on your website.
  • Small groups: link to a page listing groups and how to join.
  • Directions: a Google Maps QR code on flyers for an off-site event.

Where to put codes

UMC Discipleship, in 10 ways QR codes can help your church (read 3 November 2026), suggests: “Use a QR code on any signs around your church … that will direct people to your church’s home”. Good spots:

  • Pew cards and the back of the bulletin.
  • The welcome desk and the main doors.
  • Slides on the screen before and after the service.
  • The noticeboard and outdoor signs.

Signs read from a distance need a bigger code than a bulletin. The print size guide has sizes for each.

Keep codes safe from stickers over the top

A giving code in a public place is a target. Someone could stick their own code on top to send gifts elsewhere. Check your codes now and then, put them behind glass or laminate where you can, and tell your church what the giving page should look like. Our guide on whether it is safe to scan QR codes covers the warning signs.

You can make one code that opens a “Connect” page on your website with links to giving, the bulletin, events and Wi-Fi. That means fewer codes to print. Separate codes are clearer when each sits next to its own sign, like “Scan to give” by the giving box.

If you want one printed code you can point somewhere new each season, an editable code with QRNoExpire Pro can be changed any time without reprinting. Every free code made here is static and never expires.

Questions people ask

How do I make a QR code for church giving?

Copy the link to the giving page your church already uses, from your giving platform or your website, and paste it into the maker. The code opens that page; the payment is handled by your giving platform, not by us.

Can I use Venmo or PayPal for church donations with a QR code?

Yes, if your church takes donations there. Link to your church's profile on that service. Our Venmo QR code page explains how Venmo codes work.

Can I put a QR code in our bulletin?

Yes. Link to the bulletin as a PDF or web page, or to the notices on your site. A small code is fine on paper people hold in their hands.

Do church QR codes expire?

Codes made here never expire. The link is stored in the pattern itself, so there is no subscription that can switch it off.

Is there a free QR code generator for churches?

Yes, this one. Static codes are free, with no signup and no watermark, up to 15 new codes a day, in PNG, SVG and JPG.

Can we change where a code points later?

Not with a free static code. An editable code with QRNoExpire Pro can be repointed any time, which suits a sign you reuse for each new event.
